The Lab Experience

Clear Guidance

We start with the basics. Before drafting policy, we’ll build a shared foundation—what GenAI is, how it works, where it’s already showing up in your tools, and what’s changing. Then, over six months, we walk you step-by-step through building a responsible, mission-aligned GenAI policy—designed for the realities of smaller teams. The Lab includes five total sessions: one 90-minute virtual group launch meeting, followed by a mix of private organizational consults (x2) and group meetings (x2).

Peer Learning

You’ll join a small group of nonprofit leaders navigating similar questions. You’ll hear what’s working, what’s not, and what’s ahead.

Custom Policy (Not a Template)

You won’t just get a generic sample. We help you create an actionable, tailored policy your board can adopt and your team can use.

Staff Use Comes Out of the Shadows

Your staff are already using AI tools. This process builds permission, co-learning, and shared responsibility—not fear or restriction.

Board Engagement Without Overwhelm

We equip you to bring your board along without a 60-slide deck. You’ll get tools to help them understand, support, and approve what matters.

If your organization is larger, we’d love to work with you—but this group experience likely won’t meet your needs. Reach out directly to explore our 1:1 offerings.

Each participating organization can register two individuals—typically the executive responsible for implementation and a board member or senior leader. That’s included in your registration.

The full lab group will include 10–12 nonprofit organizations total. We keep it small on purpose—so that learning is personal, conversation is meaningful, and your questions don’t get lost in the crowd.

If you'd like to include more than two people from your team, let us know—additional seats may be available for a small added fee.

We’ve got you. Many of our clients choose to add services to compliment the core lab experience by having us lead a foundational GenAI learning session for their board or staff—a powerful way to build alignment early.

We can also support policy feedback collection, help manage internal change processes, or increase the volume of 1:1 coaching to meet your team’s unique needs.

This lab is designed to be high-value on its own, but it can also be a launchpad for deeper partnership. If you have something in mind, let’s talk—we’re here to walk with you.

It’s up to you. Legal review is not required to participate in the lab, but it is something some organizations choose to pursue.

Review by in-house or outside counsel is completely at your discretion. Many of our clients opt to do this—and many don’t. We’re not a legal firm and do not provide legal advice. That said, during the lab process, we’ll let you know when your policy is at a point where legal review might be helpful if you choose to take that step.
